Our own little vacation spot

Buying this over any other unit here was about privacy and the magnificent sunsets to which we are treated almost every day (some days the sun just seems to plop down unceremoniously).

Our terrace upstairs is like our own little vacation spot at home.

Re-covering my keyboard tray

Well, it happened.

After a couple of months of use the fabric I used to repair my keyboard and mouse tray got all dirty and stained. Time for a fashion makeover.

Easy, reversible bibs (free pattern)

One of the reasons I mainly stick to food photography is because, although food can be a temperamental model, it does not move. At least it should not.

Try that with kids.

I shot about two dozen photos for this post, and there was only one where my handsome model wasn't covering his face with his arms, pulling off the bib, or looking like something was about to go terribly wrong. I am glad at least I got one, else you'd be treated to a photo that would be the baby equivalent of a diva meltdown.

Anyway, anyone with a kid and a camera knows this. Let's talk about easy, quick-to-make reversible bibs.

It's still worth it.

This has been a very hot summer in Paradise. On top of that we just got lucky and barely got out of Hurricane Earl's path. Phew!

As anyone living in a hurricane area knows, each year is like buying a lottery ticket, only nobody wants to be the winner.

It still is worth it.

Wall boxes

Nothing I am showing you here is my invention. These exact things are available from a number of online and mortar and brick shops. I have also seen them with covered backs in various blogs and magazines.

Where I took a turn in Albuquerque was in deciding I would build them myself.
