5 It's still worth it.

Sunsets from our terrace

This has been a very hot summer in Paradise. On top of that we just got lucky and barely got out of Hurricane Earl's path. Phew!

As anyone living in a hurricane area knows, each year is like buying a lottery ticket, only nobody wants to be the winner.

It still is worth it.

  1. It's good to hear that! Just this morning I was reading about Earl, thinking about that massive, unstoppable force and how people affected by it must feel.

We don't have hurricanes here. We have earthquakes.

  3. Wow such beautiful photos Clara.

Glad you're all still safe and sound in Paradise :)

I moan about the rain we now get every summer, I am glad we don't get earthquakes or hurricanes!

  4. Thanks Val, and Maia. Luckily there never was too much risk with Earl, but too much rain and wind can cause damage too.

Val, all these pictures are taken from our terrace.

Maya: Wow, earthquakes scare me more than hurricanes. I've lived through hurricanes and some minor earth shakes. The earth moving is more terrifying to me, perhaps because unlike hurricanes there's no warning and we don't know what to expect.

  5. It's beautiful, really stunning. Often the most beautiful places on earth come with some rish attached. Glad to hear you didn't suffer any damage :)

I'd love to hear from you. Say something, but be nice or I'll tell your mom.
